-
Can I phone /email the City of Surrey and arrange this myself? No. The City of Surrey's program requires that the property management or representative are the only ones who can directly request a Large Item pickup.
-
Can I put out the pick-up items right after I submit a Pick-Up Request? No. You will be contacted once the pick-up date is scheduled. You will be issued sticker(s) to place on each pickup item. These stickers must be in place on the items or they will not be picked up. Please wait to put out the items the night before or early in the morning of your scheduled pickup.
-
How do the stickers work? How can I get them? Where is the pickup? The number of Large Item Pickup stickers you need (up to 4) will be brought to you (slid under your door) after the date has been arranged with the City of Surrey's Engineering Department's contractor. You need to put a sticker on each item you need picked up, and have the items placed in Vistor's Parking Space #10 the night before, or no later than 7:30 on the day of the scheduled pickup. Items without stickers will not be picked up.
-
Where is Visitor's Parking stall #10?Stall #10 is on the far south side of Visitor's parking, on the 19366 building side next to the top of the parkade ramp.
-
How many items can I schedule for pick-up?The City of Surrey allows 4 items scheduled for pickup per unit per year. So, if you have 4 tires to pick up, that is your 4 items. A sofa with a loveseat would count as two items. Items places in a carboard box no larger than 2ft x 3ft would count as one item.
-
What if I have more than 4 items that need to be picked up, or can't wait for an appointment? You will need to enlist the assistance of a refuse removal service, such as 1-800-GOT-JUNK or Just Junk to schedule a pickup of your refuse items. Payment for services requested by an independent contractor are the responsibility of the unit owner or tenant. Note that leaving large items by the dumpsters without arranged pickup stickers will incur fines from the Strata Corporation. Surrey also has two recycling and waste facilities where residents can dispose of unwanted items for free or low-cost. The new Central Surrey Recycling and Waste Centre located at the corner of 154 Street and 67 Avenue, provides a convenient drop-off location for recyclables such as appliances and mattresses, and garbage.
